TUC award at Expo in Shanghai
During the great world exhibition Expo 2010 in Shanghai this week, Telemark University College shared an award to a student who has contributed to develop relationships between the college and its Chinese partner universities.
Telemark University College participate at Expo 2010 together with a delegation from Telemark County this week. Academic staff from TUC are joining a group of almost 100 delegates of politicians, business people, artists and other interested people from the region.
The award
Telemark and Hubei region are co-organizing “Hubei – Norway Days” at Expo, which includes events at the Chinese and the Norwegian pavilions. Here at the Hubei stand in “China House” TUC dean Ole Ringdal handed out an award to a Chinese student who has in a brilliant way rendered service to the cooperation between TUC and our partner in Hubei region.
Great ambassador
Xi Zhimin graduated recently from our master program in Process Technology. He is one of the first students from Hubei to work at the research institute Tel-Tek and pursuing a PhD at TUC.
Xi Zhimin has through his studies in Telemark shown exceptional interest in helping TUC and our Chinese partners in getting good relations and assisting during events and visits from China.
He has also been very active in the International Student Union of Telemark, helping new international students coming to Telemark. Xi Zhimin is the first student who receive the “TUC International Alumnus Honour Award” for his achievements in promoting the good relationship between TUC and our partner universities in Hubei.
