The Board

The Board is the highest governing body of the institution. It is responsible for maintaining a high standard of academic activity and for ensuring that the institution is run efficiently and in accordance with the statutes, regulations and rules that apply and the guidelines and objectives laid down by the national governing authorities.

The Board has 11 members and consists of two members appointed by the Ministry of Education and Research, two members appointed by Telemark County Council, four members elected by and from among the academic staff and two members elected by and from among the student body. One of the members appointed by the Ministry is also appointed as chariman of the board. For the period of August 1, 2011 to July 31, 2015 professor Rune Nilsen serves as chair of the board.
