BA Event Management

Culture Administration is a study programme that is suitable for those who wish to work within the field of culture, with everything from music festivals to art exhibitions.

The first year of the programme will provide students with a basic knowledge of cultural analysis, art and cultural history, culture policy, etc.
The second year emphasises dissemination, planning and arrangements. Students will select their area of specialisation:

  • Dissemination of music
  • Dissemination of art
  • Cultural heritage
  • Dissemination of culture for children and young people or
  • Dissemination of film

The specialisation courses offered will vary from year to year.
The third year focuses on culture management, cultural planning and cultural leadership. In the third year, students will be given the opportunity to gain work experience in the cultural field, something which future employers will appreciate.
Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of change and trends in culture, and the conditions of culture in society. The ability to discuss, analyse and reflect will be developed. Through the study programme, students will gain knowledge of both the culture that is disseminated, and the target group.
Students will participate in the planning and implementation of seminars on academic or cultural policy topics.

 
Career opportunities/Further studies

Graduates may seek employment in cultural institutions, festival work, cultural administration in the public sector, NGOs and youth clubs etc. The degree qualifies students for admission to the Master’s degree programme in Cultural Studies.
