MA Physical Education, Sport and Outdoor Life Studies
The social sciences approach to physical activity is the main focus of the study programme. In addition, the study programme focuses on the relationship between the various physical activity cultures and institutions in society.
The study programme also provides the knowledge and skills to enable students to work with issues within related areas of the natural sciences and physiology.
The study programme provides insight into theoretical and methodological questions related to physical education, sports and outdoor life research, as well as insight into the current status of research in the relevant fields.
Students will acquire knowledge of the subject area that will enable them to carry out research and assess their own projects and those of others, and they will gain experience in working independently and critically with research questions.

The study programme provides students with a good basis for positions within the area of physical education, sports and outdoor life, in sports and outdoors organisations and in the public and private sectors.
Students who successfully complete the programme will, in combination with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, be qualified as senior lecturers; and they will be able to apply for positions in university colleges and universities.
