Nature & Outdoor Studies
Nature and Outdoor Studies is an interdisciplinary study programme that provides students with an understanding of the natural foundation of outdoor life activities, and man’s place in nature. By achieving better knowledge of living organisms and processes in nature, one’s experience of, and interest in, being active in the outdoors will also increase.
One of the goals of the study programme is to learn better how to mediate this experience and interest to others. The interdisciplinary study programme will provide the basis for an active and realistic social involvement, and also convey related values.
The study programme provides the necessary basis for further studies in natural sciences and environmental subjects. It provides students with various values and the basis for an active and realistic social involvement.
The study programme corresponds to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree programmes, Ecology and Natural Resources, and Nature and Outdoor Studies, and to a great extent the first year of the programme Pollution and the Environment.
By building on the study programme, students may attain a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Natural Resources; Pollution and the Environment; or Nature and Outdoor Studies; the study programme may also be included in a tailor-made degree.
