Sport Studies
The programme examines a broad spectrum of activities ranging from play, dance and outdoor pursuits to competitive sports, and provides an insight into the importance of sport in relation to society and the individual.
The programme includes equal amounts of practical and theoretical instruction.
There is close contact between students and teachers, and students are supervised throughout the programme through teaching and learning methods that include practice, teaching with supervision, report writing (portfolios), project, group and seminar teaching and lectures.

The study programme corresponds to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree programme, Sports Science.
Employment may be found in schools, voluntary organisations, the public sector, etc. The programme may be included in the Bachelor’s degree programme, Sports Science or the Bachelor’s degree programme, Subject Teacher: Physical Education. It has been approved as a further educational programme for teachers, and also as a fourth year programme in the General Teacher Education programme.
