Industrial Automation Methods
Industrial Automation Methods include studies in methods within the areas of sensor technology, industrial IT, modeling and simulation, estimation and monitoring, and control and optimization.
Industrial automation is based on information acquired through sensors. High performance automation utilizes models: models are used in soft sensors, in estimating quantities that are not directly measured, in model based optimization of operation, and in model based feedback solutions used to keep a system near the optimal solution. Models are also used to monitor the operation of a system. Contributions to methods in these areas are discussed under the menus to the left.
