The vision of the centre is to better the quality, relevance and legitimacy of Norwegian Teacher Education, and at the same time contribute to improve the quality of our kindergartens and schools.
Strategy: The centre is founded on equal collaboration, sharing of knowledge and developing learning communities between the educational and professional field.
Method: Building competency in education and profession are two sides of the same story. Central aspects in the centre's work is sharing knowledge and spreading experience- and research based knowledge.
The centre is organized in different projects. The individual projects have a project leader who is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluations. This year, the project leaders are mainly affiliated with the practical teacher training administration, kindergarten education, the faculty's unit for further education and the project Mentoring for newly qualified teachers. Experiences and knowledge gained from the projects are published in different reports, at conferences, and through this website. The leader for the centre has a particular responsibility for following up on the centre's vision and strategies.
Pilot period: During the pilot period 2011 - 2012, the main area of commitment is the kindergarten education and activities connected to the new curriculum and education. During spring 2012 there will be openings for new projects from the wide range of teacher educations at Telemark University College.
