Special Examination Arrangements

The purpose of special examination arrangements is that it should compensate for the disadvantages that disability entails, while at the same time as far as possible ensure that the candidates are tested equally.

Applications are evaluated on the basis of its content and attached documentation, with a view to finding solutions that are adequate for the individual applicant and resulting in a reasonable use of resources relative to demand.

Who can apply?
In accordance with the examination regulations at Telemark University College (§10) students with a disability, illness or other persons who can document a particular requirement for adjusted forms of examination can apply for special examination arrangements.

What adjustments can be made?
The adjusted forms of assessment may be the use of extended time, special physical
arrangements or study aids, or alternative forms of assessment.

How to apply?
A documented application for adjusted forms of assessment for final examinations, tests
and assignments must be sent to the examining faculty by the stipulated deadline, who is entitled to ask for additional documentation to further document the need for adjustments. The dean determines approval for such applications.
The documentation should be no older than 2 years.

Application deadline
The application deadline is four weeks prior to the examination/assignment submission date, unless the faculty has set other date.

Applications submitted after the deadline can not be processed unless the applicant proves that the basis for the application has occurred after the deadline has expired.
