When you have received your student number (usually by email or text message) you may activate your account using the link on the right. By activating your account you also accept the standard rules and regulations for users at Telemark University College.

Your 6-digit student number is also your user name. You type in a password of your choice during the activation process. Your user name and password is the same for all college services, and for all services that supprt Eduroam (and FEIDE).

Keep your password private. Change your password immediately if if you suspect that it may have been compromised. The IT-services group may instruct you to change your password if required. (You should always confirm that such instructions actually come from us, e.g. by talking to us in person.)

These are the requirements for college passwords:

• Minimum password lenght is 8 characters. 10 is recommended.
• At least 1 lower case letter (a-z)
• At least 1 upper case letter(A-Z)
• At least 1 digit (0-9)
• At least 1 special character (E.g. .:,=.+?> space *”;!)

Note when selecting a special character: a norwegian keyboard may have a different outline than your native keyboard...

You may use a sentence, a password phrase. A password phrase is secure and easy to remember. 40 characters at the most.The requirements above apply.

You may change your password. (You will be asked for your current password to do this.)

Setup problems?

A typical problem is that the password of your choice does not comply with the above requirements.You need to check this carefully.

If unable to access "Studentweb" then email us at passord@hit.no. State yoyr student number, full name and mobile phone number, and tell us why you need a ned password. We will confirm your identity and give you a new password (by text message). Please give your country code if required.

Contact the local IT-group. You must provide a valid ID.
