Together, the fall and spring semesters offer a broad range of academic themes, in addition to promoting intercultural competence and environmental insight. The study programme utilizes the diversity of Telemark’s geography, culture, and business life. Internationalization in higher education is a strategic goal of Telemark University College, and this study programme is an integrated part of this goal.

The courses will provide a broad range of social and cultural insights into Telemark and Norway, both in the past and present. Together with personal development through learning and adapting to a new culture, students will be challenged with the requirements of critical thinking and independent study, which characterizes Norwegian education.

This study programme offers courses in English for international students; furthermore, students with an intermediate or advanced knowledge of Norwegian may choose language and literature courses taught in Norwegian.

 

Career opportunities/Further studies

The majority of students may be able to use this study programme as an approved exchange-year as part of undergraduate degrees at the home institution.
