Outdoor Activities Studies

Outdoor Activities is a specialisation course which builds on the courses Natural Sciences and Environmental Issues, and Physical Education in the Pre-School Teacher study programme.

The study programme is intended for students in the 3-year Pre-School Teacher Education study programme and in the General Teacher’s Education study programme, and qualifies students for educational work with children. It may also be taken as a post-graduate course.

The study programme is workshop-based with 4 two-day workshops (Thursday / Friday) each semester. In addition there are field courses and some regional workshops at the Porsgrunn, Notodden and Drammen campuses.

Practical work with kindergarten children is the main area of reference for studies and a main theme throughout the year; studies are focused on the use of a didactic relational model, which includes preparation, implementation and evaluation.
