Nursing, part-time
Completion of the Nursing study programme qualifies the student for certification as a registered nurse. The study programme will qualify students to work with individuals and groups in society who are in need of care, nursing or treatment relating to failing health or illness. Students will develop into professionals with thorough knowledge, clear attitudes and advanced skills in their interaction with patients and their families. The study programme is comprised of four major course units with different weighting for the different years of study: Nursing’s Professional and Scientific Foundation; the Nursing Profession and Professional Foundation; Medical and Natural Science Topics and Social Sciences Topics.
The study programme is taught over 4 years, with an estimated study effort of 75 percent per year. The part-time study programme is web-based and includes 3-4 one-week workshop seminars at the university college each semester. Students will participate in learning-groups, which meet once a week. The study programme also includes periods of practical work experience every year. The periods of practical work experience require 100% study effort.
