PhD Students

AT Telemark University College (TUC) there presently are around 60 PhD students in several academic fields. TUC offers a PhD degree in Process, Energy and Automation Engineering, with 17 PhD students enrolled.

In additon to the PhD students mentioned above, there are PhD students in many other areas. These are formally enrolled as PhD students with other collaborating universities, but have their funding through TUC and to various degrees receive their supervision and do their research work in collaboration with TUC colleagues. In this way, TUc expands and strengthen our academic competence, while at the same time cooperation with other universities reslut in new knowledge and larger research projects.

The PhD students at TUC receive their funding from different sources. Presently 22 so called "recruitement scholarships" has been allocated to TUC by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research. Other PhD students receive funding through projects funded by the Norwegian Research Council or directly from industrial partners.

As part of TUC's programme to increase the general academic qualifications among our faculties, some of our staff also receive scholarships funded by TUC in order to complete a PhD degree.
