Ageing and Care of the Elderly

Emphasis will be placed on providing students with the necessary skills to meet demographic changes and other challenges which the country is faced with. The programme also emphasises both the breadth and depth of the complex field of care of the elderly, with a focus on the area between resource-based thinking and illness/functional deconditioning. Knowledge from previously completed degrees as well as professional experience will provide an important starting point for the study programme.
The part-time study programme comprises 60 ECTS and is taught over two years. The first year of study consists of 6.5 one-week workshops, while the second year of study consists of 5 one-week workshops. In addition, students will completion a specialisation assignment, work in learning groups and participate in observation practice.
Careers / further study:
This further education programme will be of interest to university college health and social studies graduates, primarily within the public sector. The programme is particularly aimed at professionals who work with the elderly, or who wish to pursue a career in this field.
