BA Social Education Studies
The aim of the study programme is to train user-oriented, reflective professionals with solid values who are qualified to carry out methodical community habilitation and rehabilitation work, and nursing and care.
The social educator helps people with disabilities to maintain their social rights and opportunities.
Graduates who have successfully completed this programme will receive official authorisation as social educators. Graduates will be able to seek positions as milieu workers within the health and social services, for instance, in home-based services, housing initiatives and institutions, and within the special health services. Furthermore, graduates may also seek positions in the educational and leisure sectors and with various employment projects. Social educators may also seek positions as caseworkers and supervisors. The Bachelor’s degree provides the necessary foundation for admittance to various Master’s degree programmes, such as the Master’s degree programme in Multicultural Preventative Care with Children and Adolescents at Telemark University College.
