Admission, Immigration and Registration

Application deadlines for all international students is March 1st:

Admission requirements for programme students

The admission requirements will usually depend on which country you have had your previous education from.

  • For all other countries, it is required that you have completed your secondary education. For many countries, it is also required that you have completed and passed at least one year of university education. In a few instances, two or three years of university education is required.
  • English proficiency is required for all programmes.
  • For all programmes taught in Norwegian, proficiency in Norwegian is required. For programmes taught in English there is no such requirements.
  • Some programmes have additional requirements, in addition to the general matriculation.

Admission requirements for exchange students from partner universities

Students from partner universities abroad must apply through their home institution on the designated application form within the set deadlines.

The students must have

  • studied at least one year in their home institution
  • a relevant academic background
  • sufficient language skills

All necessary documents must be sent to us before the start of the semester (Application form, learning agreement and transcript of records)

Immigration Regulations:

The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) provides information on immigration regulations. It is very important to read these regulations and comply with them.

There are different procedures depending on citizenship and country of residence. Information on residence permits for students can he found here (information is available in several languages). Norway is a member of the European Economic Agreement Area and the Schengen Agreement.

Registration:

Registration at TUC and public offices is done after arrival on campus. For exchange students arriving after the normal start of the semester, registration will be handled individually.

International degree students will have to pay the semester registration fee before they are allowed to sit for exams.

Exchange students through the Erasmus and Nordplus programmes do not pay the semester registration fee.
