Bachelor courses in alpine ecology and environmental management (taught in English)
Half-year or one-year programme,
starts August 2006

In this programme students learn about the alpine ecosystems in Scandinavia. The courses in this programme are based on geological, climatological, historical, cultural and biological studies.

As alpine ecosystems are increasingly influenced by several types of environmental stress, management strategies have to be implemented in order to maintain the biodiversity for future generations

Several field trips will be organised as part of the courses

The following courses are inluded in the programme:

Autumn:

• Alpine Ecology 10 ECTS
• Alpine Biodiversity and Management 10 ECTS
• Elective courses 10 ECTS; Ecophilosophy, Introducing Norwegian Language, Methods and Analysis of Wildlife and Fish Stocks

Spring:

• Conservation Biology 10 ECTS
• Georesources and Groundwater 10 ECTS
• Elective courses 10 ECTS; Project work. A new course is under development
